Can someone name the same star I have?
All of the star coordinates we have available to name are recorded in a secure database, with the coordinates of stars that have been named with us marked as unavailable. When a new order is placed with us, our system will only assign a star from our database that hasn’t already been named, so your star coordinates will remain unique to you. We are an independent registry so while we can promise that your star won’t be named more than once in our register, we can’t guarantee that this has been named with a different company. However, with millions of stars available to name, the chances of this occurring are very low and we are happy to investigate any reported incidents of this.
