This week’s charity shout out is a little different than usual, we would like to take this opportunity to discuss the recent, amazing project that Star Name Registry ran to offer customers a star package for just £1! This money was then all donated to Life for African Mothers – Star Name Registry’s partner charity.
Mother’s Day is a special time of year, it’s when we honour our fantastic mother’s and thank them for all the wonderful and amazing thing’s they do for us. Its once a year where we can look after them for a change, cook them a meal and show them how much we truly love them. Unfortunately for some new mother’s they never get this chance
Life for African Mothers works with women to help them through one of the most dangerous times a Women in Africa can go through – childbirth. They supply the lifesaving medication Misoprostol tablets, that stop haemorrhaging during childbirth. The charity also works with midwives, offering support and training programmes to ensure they are providing the best possible care, and after care to new mothers. The charity does fantastic work and saves so many women’s lives, which is why we feel honoured to support them every year.
Angela Gorman the founder of LFAM works hard day after day trying to provide all the above and more. She and her team visit parts of Africa yearly to visit where the medication is going and the impact it has on the hospitals and mothers themselves. This year for Mother’s Day, we wanted to give back a little. We offered the chance to name a star for just £1. With the help of our amazing customers we have managed to raise an awesome £500! This money will be donated to LFAM and will make a huge difference to many lives. As a Misoprostol tablet cost as little as 17p this £500 will impact many women’s lives during that scary time of childbirth.
