One of the most difficult things any parent can go through is to take care of a child who may not live to see 18.
Tŷ Hafan is one of the UK’s leading paediatric palliative care charities and offers support and care to help ease the difficult times for both parent and child.
The charity itself was established in 1990, with the Princess Diana being it’s very patron 1994. By 1999 enough funds were raised and the hospice was finally opened to the first families.
Today, in the picturesque village of Sully n the Vale of Glamorgan the facility caters to needs of families and careers, creating a calm atmosphere.
Specialist staff, including children’s nurses, family support workers and play workers, give care and comfort to families over weeks, months and years, providing the much needed medical and emotional support.
They also offer continued support for the family for as ever long they need , if the sad day comes when a child does die.
They do great work and provide a much needed service to said families.
